Butler Community College is a public, two-year, co-educational institution located in El Dorado, Kansas. Established in 1927 as El Dorado Junior College, Butler now stands as the second largest community college in Kansas and the sixth largest educational institution in the state. That means, annually, more than 13,000 students ranging in age from sophomores and juniors in high school to grandparents seeking a new career, enjoy and benefit from our small classes and nurturing environment.

Butler students have access to more than 90 different academic programs across 24 learning sites which includes numerous high schools in the area. The faces in our classrooms come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and from all over the U.S. and the world.

Life outside of the classroom is exciting too! Butler's excellent athletic programs include soccer, softball, baseball, basketball, spirit squad, cross county, track and field, volleyball and a five-time national champion football team. Butler is a member of the Jayhawk Conference, NJCAA Region VI. The mascot is the grizzly bear, Grizwold, and the school colors are purple and gold.

In light of concerns of COVID-19 virus , you can take care of everything online. Apply for free online . When you're ready to enroll, follow this link and request permission to be enrolled online. You are encouraged to visit with an advisor who can help you through it all. Call 316-218-6259 (Andover) or 316-322-3163 ( El Dorado) to speak to an advisor during business hours. The schedule of courses is viewable online currently. Registration for fall opens on March 23rd.

For many students, getting started on college life can seem pretty confusing. Everything is new, and the only thing you know for sure is you have more questions than answers.

We challenge you to think independently, creatively and even philosophically here. And employers know that. Our degree and certification programs are well respected because our academic standards are high.

You'll never be lost in a crowd at Butler. Our instructors work much closer with you than it is usually possible to do at most four-year colleges. You get more of your instructor's time, an even greater value when you consider the far more affordable cost.

If you want to go all the way to a bachelor's degree or farther, Butler is a great place to earn the first two years of fully transferable credit. Even if you don't want any credit, but just want to learn a new skill, you can do that here, too.

Butler Athletic Facilities

Butler student athletes train and compete in some of the finest facilities in the NJCAA. These facilities are also fan friendly and accessible, making the gameday experience great for student athletes, visiting teams and fans.
